Term1 2016 Newsletter

We hope you all had a great Christmas and would like to wish you all a Happy New Year.  I trust you all had a safe and relaxing break. It is good to hear the children telling us about their Christmas and all the exciting things they got up to.

The sun is shining and this means lots of opportunities for outdoor play and trips to the beach. There will also be lots of water play happening so please remember to pack an extra pair of clothes a hat and sunscreen. Remember no hat no outdoor play! Please sunscreen your child every day before they arrive and your educarer will reapply throughout the day as needed.  We will be reviewing our sunscreen and water policy soon please add your comments to this when you receive it so we can improve our practices.

We had a great trip to Kiwi Valley Farm for our Children’s Christmas party.  The children had a fantastic time petting and feeding the animals, riding on the tractor and the ponies.  It was so lovely to see all the children playing along happily together, it was visible to see strong bonds and friendships had been made with their educarers and friends.

Our next playgroup starts back on Monday 15th February at Warkworth Playcentre from 9.30am till 12.30pm, you are welcome to bring your child to playgroup if they are not enrolled on that day but you will have to stay with them to ensure correct ratios.

Over the next few months we will be focusing on our 4 year old programme and transition to school.  We believe that getting children school ready is not just focusing on literacy and numeracy but also focusing on their social interaction and self-care and help skills.  We will structure our playgroups so we can concentrate on our 4 year old time so look forward to seeing exciting things happening!
