We welcome Pip Stocking to our team. Pip is taking on the role of coordinator for our Rua network. Some of you may know Pip from our Warkworth centre, Pip has been an early childhood teacher for over 20 years. She has a great deal of knowledge in children with special needs and is also passionate about our 4 year old programme. Pip can be contacted on 027 343 8077 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
We have recently updated some of our policies. Our policies identify agreed processes and procedures that ensure key legislative requirements are met and that those involved in the service have a shared understanding of agreed processes and procedures so that these are consistent, safe and appropriate. Our policies are available to read on request. If you have any ideas, feedback or suggestions regarding these please feel free to contact us.
With the warmer weather on its way it is the perfect time for our educarers to take the children outside and enjoy the sunshine. Outdoor play encourages children’s appreciation of the natural world, through sensory exploration and enjoyment. It provides children with the opportunity to release emotional and physical energy while fostering positive attitudes about physical activity and healthy lifestyles.
As children participate in outdoor games and activities they develop and refine their motor skills, balance, hand/eye coordination and concentration, while gaining increasing awareness and control of their own bodies. As children engage in new challenges and recognise their own growth and accomplishments, their self-esteem grows as they develop a sense of enjoyment.
Last week we had a trip to the donkey farm in Snells Beach. The children loved getting up close to the donkeys patting and feeding them. We had a lovely picnic and walk through the bush. It’s great to be out and about enjoying what’s right on our doorstep.
Please can you let Carolyn, Pip or your educarer know of any holidays you will be taking over the Christmas period. Our educarers will inform you of any time of they may be having, we have emergency educarers if you do still require care during this time.
Hope you all have a fabulous Christmas and Summer holiday!
